Questions

Frequently asked questions

What does Frontier Physicians do?

Frontier Physicians is a physician-led hospitalist group. We provide experienced hospitalists and 24/7 inpatient coverage to rural and critical access hospitals in Colorado and Wyoming, along with ICU management, swing bed management and quality improvement partnership.

Do your hospitalists care for pediatric patients?

Yes. Our group includes family medicine hospitalists who care for pediatric patients as well as adults, alongside internal medicine hospitalists, which lets rural hospitals keep more patients close to home.

How is Frontier Physicians different from a locums or staffing agency?

We are physician-founded and physician-led rather than venture-capital backed. Instead of spending on marketing and premiums, we invest in our physicians, which leads to steadier coverage, better relationships with hospital staff and better patient care.

What schedule do your hospitalists work?

We’re flexible with scheduling arrangements. Most of our physicians work either two 5-day blocks or one 10-day block each month, which keeps them rested and engaged while on service.
