Dr. Rice is a board-certified family physician who holds the Designation of Focused Practice in Hospital Medicine from the American Board of Family Medicine in conjunction with the American Board of Internal Medicine. He completed his family medicine residency and faculty development fellowship at Madigan Army Medical Center, a hospitalist fellowship at Womack Army Medical Center, and an M.B.A. from Pacific Lutheran University.
During his Army career, he served in diverse clinical, executive leadership, and operational medicine roles across the United States, Europe, the Near East, and Asia. He is an instructor in Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). He enjoys training and mentoring medical students as Volunteer Clinical Faculty at the University of Colorado School of Medicine.
Dr. Rice has authored seven peer-reviewed articles on topics spanning clinical medicine, legal issues, and operational medicine. When caring for patients, he strives to be thorough, thoughtful, kind, and compassionate—always with the goal of comforting the sick and helping them heal.
